Present Continuous

1.      Forms of Present Continuous

Positive	am/are/is+[Verb]-ing eg. I am working in this moment.         She is talking at the phone.
Negative	am/are/is+ not+[Verb]-ing eg. I am not watching TV now.        She is not working this week.
Interogative	am/are/is + Subject+ [Verb]-ing? eg. Are you sleeping?        Is she surfing on the internet?

     2.We use Present Continuous with:

Use	E.g.	Ex.
ü  to talk about actions in progress at the moment of speaking	I am trying to open the bottle.	Incerc sa deschid sticla.
ü  to talk about temporary situations.	He is staying at the Park Hotel at present.	In prezent el sta la Hotelul Park.
ü  For changing or developing situations	Traffic is getting worse every year.	Traficul devine tot mai dificil cu fiecare an.
ü  to talk about annoying habits	She is always  forgetting people names.	Mereu uita numele oamenilor.
ü  To talk about a situation happening in the near future	I am thinking about going to see Green Day in concert next month.	Ma gandesc sa merg la concertul celor de la Green day saptamana viitoare.

     3.Time expressions used with present Continuous:

Tonight	Tom is picking me up at 7 o'clock tonight.	Diseara	Tom ma ia diseara, la ora 7.
Still	The police is still looking for fingerprints.	Inca	Politia inca cauta amprente.

!!! Unele verbe nu pot fi folosite la forma continua si se numesc “State verbs”(=Verbe de stare) sau “Non-continuous verbs”. O lista cu aceste verbe si exemple o voi publica in unul din urmatoarele post-uri, deci, fiti pe faza ;)
